Drushti
Drushti is a platform for students to know about their skills, interests, capabilities and exposing them to a variety of courses and curricula allowing them to understand what they are good at and what professional option is suitable for them. So that they can make an informed decision.
What I did?
Drushti is an independent project. As the only designer I designed the end to end user experience.

Prototype
In order to gain insight into existing career guidance resources, I compared websites and platforms that provide guidance to students.
On the basis of secondary research, user interviews, and comparative analysis, I drafted personas to better understand the needs of the user, which further helped me ideate solutions.
Pain points, gaps, and wishes of the user were identified based on insights from contextual research, user research, and comparative analysis.

Reflections
-
This was the first project where I implemented the UX process from end to end. So I learned about the overall process.
-
Understanding the problem space is extremely important.
-
It is imperative to understand what users want. Sometimes users know what they want and sometimes they don't. It is the job of the designer to identify the gaps and use them.
-
Time management is the key; since this was a self-initiated project setting deadlines and following them was imperative. Keeping myself motivated was the key.
Future Considerations
-
93 % of schools in India do not have career counselors. India needs 15 lakh counselors for 315 million students, this project, if made live, will have an impact on that many students. Thus making the project live is the next step.
